This Privacy Statement describes Stypi’s Web site privacy practices.

Stypi is a real time, collaborative text editor. The “Stypi Service” means the online, Web-based service as described in the Terms of Use .

Stypi collects information from individuals who visit Stypi’s Web site and individuals who register to use the Stypi Service.

When registering to use the Stypi Service, Stypi requires you to provide your contact information, such as your name and email address, and a username (“Signup Information”).

Stypi uses Signup Information to register individuals for the Stypi Service.

Stypi uses Web Site Navigational Information to operate and improve the Stypi Web site. Stypi uses commonly-used information-gathering tools to collect information as you navigate the Stypi Web site (“Web Site Navigational Information”). This section describes the types of Web Site Navigational Information that may be collected on Stypi’s Web site and how this information may be used.


Stypi uses cookies to make interactions with the Stypi Web site easy and meaningful. When you visit the Stypi Web site, Stypi’s servers send a cookie to your computer. Standing alone, cookies do not personally identify you. They merely recognize your Web browser. Unless you choose to identify yourself to Stypi, such as by providing Signup Information, you remain anonymous to Stypi.

Web Beacons

Stypi may use Web beacons alone or in conjunction with cookies to compile information about usage of Stypi’s Web sites and interaction with emails from Stypi. Web beacons are clear electronic images that can recognize certain types of information on your computer, such as cookies, when you viewed a particular Web site tied to the Web beacon, and a description of a Web site tied to the Web beacon. When you visit Stypi’s Web sites, Stypi collects your Internet Protocol (“IP”) addresses to track and aggregate non-personal information. For example, Stypi uses IP addresses to monitor the regions from which individuals navigate Stypi’s Web site.

5. Public Forums

Stypi may provide bulletin boards, blogs, or chat rooms on the Stypi’s Web site. Any personal information you choose to submit in such a forum may be read, collected, or used by others who visit these forums, and may be used to send you unsolicited messages. Stypi is not responsible for the personal information you choose to submit in these forums.

6. Sharing Information via Stypi

Individuals may elect to share information submitted to the Stypi Service with their friends. When sharing information via Stypi, Stypi requests the friend’s name and email address. Stypi will automatically send the friend a one-time email providing a Web link to the information shared.

7. Sharing of Information Collected

Stypi does not share, sell, rent, or trade any information provided with third parties for their promotional purposes.

Stypi reserves the right to use or disclose information provided if required by law or if Stypi reasonably believes that use or disclosure is necessary to protect Stypi’s rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process.

8. International Transfer of Information Collected

Stypi may transfer and access Signup Information from around the world, including the United States. This Privacy Statement shall apply even if Stypi transfers Signup Information to other countries.

9. Communications Preferences

Individuals may manage receipt of marketing and non-transactional communications by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link located on the bottom of Stypi’s marketing emails. Individuals cannot opt out of receiving transactional emails related to their account with Stypi.

10. Security

When Stypi is accessed using Internet Explorer version 6.0 or later, Firefox version 2.0 or later, or Safari version 3.0 or later, Secure Socket Layer (.SSL.) technology protects information submitted to the Stypi Web site using both server authentication and data encryption. Individuals are responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of their Stypi usernames and passwords.

11. Changes to this Privacy Statement

Stypi reserves the right to change this Privacy Statement. Stypi will provide notification of material changes to this Privacy Statement through Stypi’s Web sites at least thirty (30) days prior to the change taking effect.
